Boundary Line Adjustment to HOME PAGE
A Boundary Line Adjustment(BLA) is a process of moving the boundary, the edge line, of your lot to a different place along with the boundary of an adjoining lot or lots. The adjoining lot owner must agree to the change. The change is reviewed by your jurisdiction, be it unincorporated King County or a city, and must be approved before recording the change. The lots involved can be under one ownership or several owners. The regulations vary significantly from one jurisdiction to another. The calendar time can be several months. Unfortunately, the regulations can be very complex involving the Zoning Code, the Health Department, critical or sensitive areas reviews, a title company's report of ownership and a surveyed drawing of the lots involved. Or, if making small changes to already developed lots, the process can be much simpler.
